DRAMATIC
details
Here’s what you should know about this palette!
the basics
The dramatic palette pairs ivory, white and tan with deep burgundies and foliage to create a moody vibe with a vintage flair.
In addition to large, bold focal flowers in burgundy and white, the accent colors can often be found in dried elements, seed pods, and grasses.
Deep greenery such as ferns and ruscus, along with scabiosa, penstemon and wheat are commonly used.
In spring, arrangements and buckets will include Panda anemones, rich ranunculus, snapdragons, ammi and daucus.
In summer, we add dahlias, Queen Red zinnias, and late-season mums.
The spirit
This palette should feel rich, moody, a bit antique, surrounded by rich drapery, candlelight, or evergreens.
While it’s a wonderful autumn choice, spring has some really interesting focal blooms and grasses to offer for an unexpected moody moment.
variations
As seen in some of the photos, this palette can also be softened substantially with the addition of lavenders or blushes. Pops of blood red could create an even more dramatic, almost spooky tone.
